The exhibition Syria – Against Forgetting or Everyday Life in Almanya at the RESIST!

On July 2, 2022, I visited the exhibition Syria – Against Forgetting or Everyday Life in Almanya with Inana Othman (author, researcher, political illustrator) and Souad Abbas (journalist) at the RESIST! This exhibition presented memories and everyday stories of Syrian women* in Germany. The exhibition not only focused on the richness of Syrian high culture, but also dealt with small stories of these women in everyday life before and after their flight. It was about love, friendship, solidarity and education through everyday experiences. Valuable objects were shown in the form of texts, photos, music or documents that these women or guests of the event brought with them, as an expression of resistance to forgetting.
